Resources for you

Just as it takes a village to raise a child, that same principle applies to restoring a car.

We have listed a few of the resources that aided in the completion of the 56 MK II Lincoln.  Many thanks to all of you and to your knowledge and expertise in your field.

Restoration  Services

  • Antique Auto Restoration: www.antiqueautorestorationca.com  located at 1975 Del Monte Boulevard,  Seaside, California 93955  Phone (831)393-9411.  Antique Auto did the majority of the extensive restoration work on the Mark II.   Owner Randy Reed has been doing complete restorations at a top level for 30 years.  On any day you will see the widest array of classics, customs and one-off’s.  Most for a complete redo or some for service.  Many are being prepared for the next year’s Pebble Beach Concours.  It  would be incorrect to try to put a label on his signature specialty, but he has personally owned something like a 100 Mini’s.
  • Vern’s Chrome: www.verneschromeplating.com   Located a t 1559 W. El Segundo Blvd. Gardena, Calif. 90249. Excellent quality and fast turn-around time, are both key elements and are both in evidence on this project and others in which Vern’s has done the work.
  • Quality Transmission.  Quality transmission located at 2019 Del Monte Blvd.in Seaside, Calif. 93955.,  phone (831) 394-4900, did the work on the Mark II transmission and that of the ’62 T-Bird also.  Not all shops are willing to even tackle the challenges of vintage transmissions, but they are good at it.

Car Clubs

  • Lincoln & Continental Owners Club.   Founded in 1953 and serving Lincoln lovers ever since.  Well run with an award winning bimonthly publication.  Has published registry of owners and cars and has produced an excellent authenticity manual for the Mark II which we used for our restoration.  The club is an invaluable source of information.  Website is: www.lcoc.org and the address is: LCOC PO Box 1715, Maple Grove Mn 55311, phone (866) 427-7583.

  • Coker vintage reproduction BF Goodrich 820-15’s with the correct width WW.

  • Mark II’s Second Chance, owned by Russ Upton, who is a valuable source of information about these cars as well as a source for used parts.  Phone is:(480) 941-8983.
  • Mark II Enterprises, 13533 Hitt Rd., Apple Valley, CA, 92308.  Owner Jack Rosen has amassed a large inventory of used parts and carries most of the available reproduction parts for these cars as well as the other contemporary Lincoln vehicles of that era.  Phone is: (800) 576-2752.
